Hi All! Today was a glorious sea day! Sleep in and do nuttin’! Well actually we did do a couple things but mostly related to eating!
After sleeping in (and missing breakfast! – yes, we missed a cruise meal – unheard of!), we had lunch and then listened to the port talk about Alesund, Norway. We’ve been there before but it’s always good to hear any new tips on how to navigate the town. We then went to the Royal High Tea (yes more eating!). They had some yummy treats to go with a spot of tea. So British!
After that we played trivia with four other people, an older couple from Albany, New York and two young people from Prague in the Czech Republic. We did pretty well and got 10 out of 15 points. The winners got 13 so we were close.
After that we went back to the room to clean up and get ready for dinner. Tonight is formal night so I had to squeeze into my Tux (yeah, right!). But some people did really dress up and several men were in tuxes and lots of women in formal gowns. Of course Kathy was the prettiest of them all!
For dinner we both started off with the escargot for an appetizer and I added a shrimp cocktail and Kathy had the French Onion soup. For the mains, I did the Sole and Kathy did the Tenderloin. For dessert we both got the flourless chocolate cake (soooo good!).
After dinner we went to the show called “Hollywood, Broadway and Beyond”. It was really good with great singing and dancing.
After the show I listened to the piano player while Kathy pulled some slots. No big winnings so she’s got to keep working!
We did get some downer news. They announced we’ll miss several of our port stops in Greenland due to a build up of ice in the water but they are adding a stop in Nuuk, the Capitol of Greenland, so at least we get to say we stepped foot on Greenland. Oh well, you can’t control the weather!
