Canary Islands, Morocco and Northern Europe cruise on Seabourn Ovation – Day 22 – St Malo, France – Final Pics!

Thurs May 16, 2024

Hi Again All! We had a great night but ate way too much food! We ate in the specialty restaurant Solis and decided to go big. As they say, “go big or go home” and since we’re going home in two days we decided to go BIG!

We both started out with the same first appetizer, the Shrimp Crostini. It was very tasty. Then Kathy went with the Panzanella salad as her second appetizer and I went with the clam risotto. That risotto was soooo creamy and they gave me lots of clams.

Then we went BIG! We got the 32 ounce ribeye (yep, you heard me right, 32 oz!) but that was to share (whew) but it was still a lot of meat. But it was so delicious. We couldn’t eat it all so we asked for a doggy bag and will take some for lunch on our excursion tomorrow. We also ordered some garlic shrimp (ya know, surf and turf!) and had no idea the shrimp were that big. Crazy! We also had some yummy marinated vegetables (trying to pretend to be healthy!).

We ate so much we skipped dessert. Yep, you heard that right, no dessert. That might be a first! After dinner we went to the show about the music of Tim Rice. We saw it on the last leg of the cruise and was so good we went to see it again. We did not get up to see Ana and Humberto tonight since we have an early day tomorrow.

Tomorrow we’ll be docked in Cherbourg, France but we’ll be doing an all day tour to the D-Day beaches of Normandy. I’m hoping our good weather luck will hold up since we now have both St James and the Archangel Michel on our side! We had no rain today and great weather and hoping it holds for tomorrow. Happy Thursday all!
