Canary Islands, Morocco and Northern Europe cruise on Seabourn Ovation – Day 18 – Waterford, Ireland – Pics Part 1!

Sun May 12, 2024

Hi All! First and foremost, Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. I was blessed to have a great mother and while we lost her a few years ago, I know she is always watching over me and protecting me during all my travels. Thanks Mom!

Today we made it to Ireland! And not one drop of rain (I swear it’s because we hugged that statue of St James in Compostela!). We were docked in Waterford and while it seemed like a nice town, we actually spent the day seeing lots of other quaint towns around it. (And I had to keep Kathy away from the Waterford Crystal store with all the super expensive stuff! Lol).

We had the best tour guide today named Brian. I found him thru Rick Steves and he gave us a private tour to Kilkenny, the Rock of Cashel and the town of Cahir. We saw lots of castles, sheep and the color green everywhere! I really love Ireland and spent almost a month here several years ago. The people are so friendly!

I’ll let the pictures do the talking. I’ll send an update out later tonight after dinner. Happy Sunday to all!

PS: The little town of Kilkenny was mobbed with people and our tour guide said that wasn’t normal and wondered why there were so many people. Then we talked to some people and they told us Bruce Springsteen was there for a concert for 60,000 people! Crazy for that little Irish town!
