Hi Folks! We had a glorious sea day today floating across the Bay of Biscay. It was very sunny but a bit cool in the mid to high 60’s. But what do we expect, we’re heading to Ireland! We got to sleep in and also get an extra hours sleep due to the time change. Sweet!
We started the day off with a new conversationalist named Andrew Johnson. He spoke on the Spanish and Portuguese battle for control of the world. He shared some interesting facts. The three most spoken languages in the world are Mandarin (20%), English (10%) and Spanish (9%). Spanish is spoken by 35.5 million people around the world. The Philippines were named after King Phillip of Spain. And that when Magellan sailed around the world only 17 of his 250 crew survived. Use all that in your next trivia game!
Speaking of trivia, we played with 6 other people and came in 3rd! The questions were really hard but we had some Aussies that were really smart.
We then grabbed lunch and afterwards went to “Sessions & Scoops” at poolside where the band and singers play “sessions” of music while the Cruise Director “scoops” out fresh gelato. It was fun!
Then on to Name That Tune where we played with a group of four others, with two of them being the Aussies from trivia. We came in third again. Darn it!
After that we got ready for dinner and got all gussied up since it was formal night. We had a great dinner. They had lobster, our favorite! But I was so excited to dig into it I forgot to take a picture of it! Lol
After dinner we went to the show which was the singer from the other night named Ben Mills. He put on another great show!
After the show we went to check on Ana and Humberto. Thankfully they were still there playing and haven’t left the ship yet!
Tomorrow we are in Waterford, Ireland! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
PS: We get off the ship exactly a week from today. So sad!
