Hi All! Today was a nice relaxing sea day but we did a lot of fun stuff. We started off listening to our favorite speaker Nikki talk about Morocco. I never knew Morocco and the US had such a close relationship. We learned Morocco was the first country to recognize the US when we became a new country. The oldest treaty the Americans have is with Morocco. FDR and Churchill met for the first time to plan for World War II in Morocco. And there were 300,000 Moroccans that fought in WW2. And I thought it was just known for the Humphrey Bogart movie Casablanca!
We then listened to a motivational speaker from the UK named Jonty Warneken. He had a near fatal car crash at 22 where he lost his leg and his ability to follow his passion of being a professional rugby player. He overcame the odds to represent his country in Ice Swimming (never knew there was such a thing!) and won three Guinness World Records. Just incredible!
We then tried our hand at trivia. We teamed up with 8 other people and still didn’t do great. The questions were so hard!
Later in the day we played Name That Tune and teamed up with three other people. We did pretty good but didn’t win. It’s so frustrating when you know the tune of the song but can’t name it! Oh well, it was fun.
We then had a nice dinner and watched the show called Latin Quarter. It featured the Seabourn singers and dancers presenting a medley of Latin American music, song and dance from artists such as Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin and Camilla Cabello. It was a fun, high energy show!
We ended our evening listening to the smooth jazz music of Ana and Humberto. Tomorrow we’re off to Agadir, Morocco which will be the first time the Seabourn Ovation ship will visit this port (as is our first time)! Hope everyone’s weekend is going well!
