Hi Folks! Well even though this was a sea day, we did a lot of fun stuff. That is, after sleeping in and getting room service for breakfast. Decadent!
We started the day off going to a talk by the Captain and hearing her story. She started her career at the young age of 16 and is one of only 10 female captains across all cruise ships! She was born in Italy but now lives in Croatia.
We then listened to one of the speakers discuss all the weather issues the Caribbean islands deal with. Things like droughts, hurricanes and volcanoes. One of the islands, Dominica, which we visited on our last cruise, has 9 live volcanoes on it!
After that we went to listen to the port talk speaker. He was discussing Curacao and all the cool things on that island. We’re really excited to visit there.
Then it was time for lunch! The fresh cooked seafood they offer for lunch is amazing. Swordfish, salmon, shrimp, corvina and sea bass. So yummy!
We took a little break in the afternoon and got geared up for more NFL football! Kathy and I are huge NFL fans and loved watching the Packers put a whooping on the Cowboys!
We then got cleaned up and went to dinner at the steakhouse restaurant called Marble & Co. We sat right behind the Captain! Wait, who was steering the ship?? Kathy started with the crab meat salad and I got the fingerling potatoes and caviar. I also had a Caesar salad that was made table-side. For our mains, Kathy and I both got the Filet Mignon and I added a lobster tail (of course!). The brownie for dessert was also yummy!
After dinner we watched more football! The Lions vs Rams game was a great game and I’m really happy the Lions won! Long overdue for that city and franchise.
Tomorrow we are docked in Willemstad, Curacao. We have a private tour we booked on our own to give us a tour of the island. Should be fun! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
