New Year’s Cruise on Explora Journey 1 – Day 3 – Sea Day – Final Update!

Hi All! We had another relaxing sea day and I mean relaxing. We slept in very late since we set our clocks ahead and lost an hours sleep. Went to another talk on photographer and tips for using composition, color and lighting. Watch out, my pics will be jumping off the page!

Played trivia with the same team and we did worse today (only 12 right out of 20) and the same team one. Darn bunch of millennials! Lol. 

Had another great lunch and did some sunning and chillin’ in the afternoon. Listened to the speaker talk about our port tomorrow of Aruba and gave us ideas of things to see. 

We got cleaned up and went to dinner at the “steakhouse” style restaurant called Marble &Co. (named after the marbling in good beef). It was very good. For starters, we both had the crab salad and I had the fingerling potatoes and caviar while Kathy had the Caesar salad made table-side. For our mains, Kathy had the veal medallions with a lobster tail (of course!) and I had the ribeye steak with a lobster tail (of course!). We both had the chocolate brownie with caramel sauce for dessert. It was all so yummy!

After dinner we went to the show that was a tribute to the legends of swing music. You can’t stop tapping your toes to that great music! Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc. Good stuff!

After the show we did our routine of pulling some slots and listening to the piano player. We also streamed the Dolphins game with this great wifi!

Tomorrow we spend the day in Aruba! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

A couple additional notes:

Found out there are only 510 people onboard out of a capacity of 900 so that’s probably why the service is so attentive. 

The Steelers made the playoffs!! Woo Hoo!
