Hi Folks. We are in beautiful Antigua/Barbuda, St John’s the Capitol to be exact. The weather is perfect, sunny and about 80 degrees with a nice breeze. Ahhh…
Our excursion today was not until 1 PM so we slept in, had a leisurely breakfast and got off the ship and walked around the port area in the morning. Kathy loves to shop so she was in heaven while I did lots of people watching. There were 5 cruise ships in port with over 14,000 passengers so all the shop owners were very happy!
For our excursion we did a tour around Antigua. Our first stop was the Nelson’s Dockyard which was an old British port. They said the huge palm tree was planted by Queen Elizabeth 57 years ago! The other stop was Shirley Heights which had one of the most beautiful views in all the Caribbean!
After we got back we went to listen to the speaker talk about our next two ports since we’ve never been there. One is Roseau in Dominica and the other is Bequia in St Vincent’s and the Grenadines. Both sound amazing and we can’t wait to see them!
Tonight the show was early, at 6:30, so we went to that and enjoyed all the singing and dancing. After the show we ate at the SALT (Sea and Land Taste) restaurant which is tied in with the cooking class we took the other day. The food uses a lot of the spices from the islands we’re visiting and was really good!
After dinner we went to listen to the jazz duo that played at the Silver Note restaurant from the other night. They are so good.
We called it an early night since we have to get out the door by 8:15 AM. On to Dominica!
