Hi Gang! It’s always sad to write the final update from any trip and this one is no different. But the main thing is we got back home safe with no troubles and had an amazing trip. The cruise experience on Oceania was good but it doesn’t rival Regent Seven Seas nor Seabourn. But definitely felt more upscale than the main cruise lines and their specialty restaurants food was very good but still not up to their marketing materials claiming it’s the “finest cuisine at sea”. In my opinion, Regent Seven Seas has that claim locked up with their offering of Filet Mignon and Lobster every day!
We also had a marvelous time staying with our good friends Sue and Stuart outside of London. They are such gracious hosts and fed us well and took us on an amazing tour around their area. We hope to visit them again soon and possibly do a land trip up thru Wales and/or the Lake District of England. They may also be coming to the US next summer where I hope they will stay with us so we can show them around our area. It was also nice to see our other good friends Annie and Alan and we were so thankful they had us over to their house for dinner.
We also learned a lot about rugby on this trip! We watched the two final World Cup games and I’m thankful to Stuart for answering all my questions about the rules and scoring as we watched. I have to admit, if I watched a game over here without Stuart by my side I’d be lost! That game is complicated! I included a picture of a rugby ball Stuart has for you non-rugby people to see.
And lastly, we fell in love with their cute dog Skyler. We wanted to steal her away with us and take her home! She is a rescue and is so loving and sweet. She got to go with us to Annie and Alan’s house for dinner and you could tell she was so excited to be with us all. I included a picture of her as well.
I hope everyone enjoyed following along in this trip. I highly recommend a Mediterranean cruise especially during the shoulder seasons. I hope all are well! Happy Halloween!
