Medieval Mediterranean Marvels cruise on Oceania Nautica – Day 8 – Dubrovnik, Croatia – Final Writeup!

Tuesday October 24, 2023

Hi again Gang! We had a great day in Dubrovnik! Like I said before while we were here almost exactly a year ago on an Azamara cruise we enjoy Dubrovnik so much we were glad to come back. But with all honesty we would have rather gone to our original port for today which was supposed to be Korcula, Croatia. But we didn’t go due to expected high seas and that they didn’t feel we could tender safely. Well tendering to Dubrovnik in the morning was no problem but coming back around 4:30 PM, the waves were really choppy and it was somewhat scary trying to get from the tender boat on to our ship. Thankfully we made it back onboard!

We spent time walking around the old town of the walled city. It has such a Medieval feel to it that we actually thought we were in Game of Thrones! Lol. For you GOT fans, you probably noticed from the pictures that this is a King’s Landing!

After walking around and checking out all the cool architecture, Kathy did a little shopping and I got a chance to post some more pictures to my blog with their free wifi.

After that we took an open air bus around the outskirts of town to see some nice views and learn the history of the area. We got back on the ship late and had a quick snack and chilled for awhile. Then we went for a late dinner. We tried getting a last minute reservation at either of the two specialty restaurants, Toscana and Polo Grill. We….

Since we started dinner so late we just listened to a little piano afterwards and called it an early night. We have to get up early tomorrow for our excursion in Split, Croatia. We stopped there last year as well on our Azamara cruise and are looking forward to seeing it again. Hope everyone had a great Tuesday!
