Hi All! We had a very busy (but fun!) day today. We had two excursions so we covered a lot of ground in Sicily. We were docked in Catania but did a morning excursion covering most of Catania and then in the afternoon took a bus about an hour north to Taormina. Even though we were at two different cities, the whole time we could see huge Mt Etna in the background. We did see smoke coming out if it but thankfully it didn’t blow while we were there!
Catania is an old city with lots of Baroque architecture and is right on the water. While Taormina is high up on a hill and has lots of Greek history tied to it. The Greek amphitheater we saw was amazing!
Food wise, it was a lobster kind of day (and you folks know how I love my lobster!). I found out I can order lobster every day at lunch but believe it or not, it’s at the pool bar! They serve burgers and hot dogs but one of the burgers is a surf and turf burger. It had lobster and filet Mignon. Sweet!! Know where I’m getting lunch every day?? Lol. And tonight at dinner they had lobster and prime rib so we got another surf and turf! We’re Spoiled! Lol.
After dinner we went to listen to the comedian. He was pretty funny. He had a real dead pan delivery but his stories were funny. He grew up Mormon so he had a lot of funny Mormon stories.
After the show we ended our night listening to the piano player who is very good. Tomorrow we go to Malta, which is an island between Sicily and Africa. I’ve heard great things about it and really looking forward to seeing it. Happy Thursday all!
