Arctic Circle Expedition – Day 20 – Back Home – Final Entry!

Wednesday Aug 23, 2023

Hi All! WOW… what an amazing trip we had! And we ended it by getting first class seats from London to Charlotte (Kathy pulled some strings!). Gotta love it!

Our trip home was uneventful but LONG! Pretty much 22 hours of traveling. We started in Oslo at 6 AM (Midnight ET) and got home at 10 PM ET. The train to the Oslo airport was a little delayed but not a problem. We found where we had stored our luggage at the Oslo airport and got our bags checked (and they surprisingly were not overweight with all those souvenirs I bought the grandkids! Lol).

The flight from Oslo to London was short and not too bad. We had to walk a lot to get to our gate at Heathrow but we found it and settled in for our layover which was not too bad. And then of course we got rewarded with first class seats so it all worked out.

Thanks all for following along. I hope you enjoyed this trip as much as we did. We LOVED doing expeditions and are already plotting to do an Antarctica expedition cruise as well as another Arctic expedition. If I can talk Kathy into it, I’d also like to do a Northwest Passage cruise which usually goes from Eastern Canada or Greenland across to Alaska using a very circuitous route that sometimes is blocked by ice! I’m trying to channel my inner Shackleton! Lol.

Bye for now until our next journey!
