Hi Folks! We’re keeping our weather streak alive with another gorgeous day. So we slept in and had breakfast delivered to our room. Then watched a lecture on meteorological phenomenon of Northern Norway and the Arctic Region. Of course they talked about the Northern Lights but also about various different cloud formations as well as other lights to look for in the sky.
Then pretty much everyone on boat gathered on the top and front of the ship to watch us sail thru the Trollfjord. This fjord is only a mile long and very narrow. The entrance is only 300 feet across and I wasn’t sure if our ship would fit thru it! We went into it, did a 180 degree turn and came back out. The scenery was beautiful.
So we now have a lot more people on board. In Tromso yesterday, there were 35 people who disembarked (in essence they only booked a 5 day cruise) and 80 people who boarded so we’re now at around 170 passengers which is at capacity for this ship when doing an expedition cruise. That’s still a lot less than any other cruise we’ve been on. I know now why they call it “Intimate Yachting”!
Later that in the day we went for afternoon tea and then had a nice dinner. The evening entertainment was the assistant cruise director Julie singing Broadway songs intertwined with her personal stories of what really goes on both onstage and off. She has a very powerful voice!
Tomorrow we sail thru the Lofoton Islands and then stop at the port of Leknes. Happy Saturday to all!
