Hi Folks! Well today we had a lazy sea day but there was a little excitement added in that I’ll mention below. The ship was rocking a little bit last night and this morning but luckily that doesn’t affect Kathy or I. It actually let me sleep like a baby being rocked in the cradle!
We did sleep in and skipped breakfast (what, miss a meal on a cruise ship???) but we made up for it with a big lunch. And at lunch is where the excitement began. Right when we were finishing up lunch, the ship lost power! That’s never happened to us and we’ve both cruised many times (we won’t talk about the fire that broke out on the cruise ship last year but at least we didn’t lose power!)
Some emergency lighting did come on but it was still pretty dark going out the hallway leaving the restaurant. Luckily it was daylight so we went outside and hung by the pool for awhile. Of course the elevators weren’t working so we got our steps in going up and down the steps. The power finally came on about an hour later. So no real biggie but we laughed wondering whether the part they needed to fix it was not onboard due to “supply chain issues”! Lol.
In the afternoon, we went to a show put on by the comedian, who we really like, talking about the history of stand up comedy. Did you know one of the reasons they call it stand up was given years ago by the Mafia when comedians in their clubs could withstand all the harassment and if they did, they’d say he’s a real stand up guy!
We also played trivia but didn’t do great and had a nice dinner (the Miso Glazed Sea Bass was to die for!). The show was really good and we ended the day with our piano guy and some slots.
Tomorrow we’re in Hamilton, Bermuda!
