Canada – Bermuda – NYC – Cruise – Day 3 – Quebec – Pics Part 1!

Monday June 12, 2023

Hi gang. We had another WOW day! We LOVED Quebec! If you ever get the chance, go there. There is so much history. It was founded in 1608 and is one of the oldest cities in North America. The wall surrounding the old part of Quebec is the only remaining fortified wall that still exists in the Americas north of Mexico. And the weather was really nice, actually pretty warm by Quebec standards. It was 81 degrees and sunny and no smoke/haze!

We did two group tours today (and Regent offers all their tours for free – which is a leg up on Seabourn!) and both were great. Our first tour was a walk thru the new part of the city along the water, then a bus ride out to Montmorency Falls (that was nice but was no Iguazu Falls – that spoiled us for waterfalls!), then a bus ride thru the old city of Quebec. We got to get out and walk around a few nice areas of the old town. But got to see more of it with our second tour.

Speaking of which!… our second tour was totally a walking tour of both the new and old parts of Quebec. We first walked thru the new part of town and this tour guide covered more of the history than the first tour guide did. We then took the funicular up to the old town and walked around for awhile and then had afternoon tea at the famous Le Château Frontenac hotel that sits high above Quebec and is really the symbol for the city. They had lots of little sandwiches and sweets washed down with some good old hot tea. We then walked around town and did a little souvenir shopping.

Then back on to the ship to get ready for our other WOW moment. We had reservations at their specialty restaurant called Prime 7. WOW… the menus was incredible. Pretty much every high end dish you’ve ever heard of, and the food we got was amazing! We’re going to try to get another reservation for later in the week but they normally only allow you to have one so every one can try it. But we’ll see if they can squeeze us in.

Then we did our normal evening routine of seeing the show, playing the slots and listening to the piano player. The show was all Broadway music and very well done.

Tomorrow we’re off to Saguenay. They changed our itinerary for some reason since we were supposed to go to Baie-Comeau but they say the new place has a Norway feel to it since we’ll be going thru some fjords. We love fjords and Norway so we’re excited to see it.

Hope everyone had a great Monday!
