Hi folks! We made it on to the Seabourn Ovation ship and it did not disappoint! Only took about 10 minutes to go thru the boarding process. Probably the fastest boarding we’ve ever had. It was also nice that our rooms were ready when we boarded around 1:30. Most cruise lines rooms aren’t ready until 3:00 or later.
Our room is really nice. Large bathroom with two sinks, separate tub and shower and all marble counter tops. There’s even a walk in closet… unheard of on most cruise lines! Large living area that you can divide into two separate rooms and a decent sized balcony with two chairs and table. We might have to have lunch out there one day!
After checking out our room we went to lunch at their buffet place and all the food was pretty tasty. Lots of shrimp, salmon, veal and other options. We met a really nice family who had 8 of them traveling together. How fun!
After lunch we toured the ship and each floor was more impressive than the last. They have lots of little nooks where there are pools or hot tubs that are tucked away and I don’t think a lot of people know about them. After our ship tour we went to our room to unpack and get cleaned up for dinner.
Dinner was also amazing and we both went with the meat dish, me getting prime rib and Kathy getting the beef tenderloin. We shared and both were really good. And the icing on the cake was the dessert of a chocolate chip lava cake. Kathy said it was the best dessert she’s ever gotten on a cruise! It was right up there for me too!
After dinner we went to listen to the main show which was a band doing all Beatles songs on the pool deck. They were great and the weather was perfect, probably 72 degrees and no rain or humidity. We rocked the night away listening to them.
Afterwards we checked out the piano player in the lounge area. His name was John and he was really good too. We then crashed early since we have an early all day excursion tomorrow.
On to St Lucia!
PS: Happy Birthday to my daughter Jenny!!
