Mexican Riviera – Day 7

First and foremost I want to say Happy Veteran’s Day to all our veterans out there. My Dad was a veteran and I appreciate all the freedoms we have due to the sacrifice they all gave. And like I always say at the end of my travels, I’m blessed to see some amazing places around the world but I always appreciate coming back to the good ol’ USA, the greatest country in the world!

So today our excursion was just OK, not great, but our tour guide Freddy was the best and made the day enjoyable. He was a funny guy who grew up in Ensenada and loved his town. He kept saying “you guys” every time he talked to us and it just sounded so funny.

Our tour was to listen to a Mexican Mariachi band and watch the dancers and then go see a natural geyser they call The Bufadora. The band and dancers were good but the geyser turned out to be a dud and really was nothing more than a tourist trap with a large flea market selling lots of junk. But they did have an authentic Mexican restaurant with good shrimp tacos!

After our excursion (it was from 10 to 3) we got back on the ship and got showered and packed (sad that it’s our last day). We went to an early dinner and both of us got prime rib (it was so good!) and said goodbye to our great waiters Rohan and Godfrey. We also had lots of music to listen to since our Strings Attached friends were playing twice, there was a Beatles hour of music, and a piano player tickling the ivories!

I’ll do one last blog entry tomorrow to document our exciting trip home. Like I always say, you can’t beat the price of flying standby but it’s always an adventure! So keep those prayers coming so we can get a couple seats to get to Charlotte. Happy Friday to all!
