Day 5 – Juneau! – Part 2! – Glaciers!

The second part of our tour they took us on a 10 minute drive from the marina to the Mendenhall Glacier’s Visitor Center. Getting out of the bus you could see the massive glacier in front of us. It was incredible to hear how much the glacier has receded over the last 50 years or so.

The pics really don’t do it justice since the blue color you see in it is magnificent and doesn’t show up as vividly via the camera. We walked around the area and took a trail down to a photo shoot point. We could have walked a lot further down to the huge waterfall you see in one of the pics but the ship was leaving port early today and we wanted to do a bit more shopping before boarding.

This is our last stop in Alaska. Tomorrow we have a sea day and Sunday we stop at Victoria, Canada.

Tonight we have a fun night on the ship planned. After dinner we plan to see a show that is supposed to be real high tech and uses an LED screen that is two floors high! Then the second show is the Love and Marriage show which has 3 couples (newlyweds, 15-30 years, and 40-60+ years) answering funny questions about each other. That show is always a hoot!

So this should be the last post tonight unless a crazy fire breaks out again or something crazier! Lol
