Day 4 – Sitka! – Part 2! – Bears!

I decided to split today’s travel blog entry up into 3 parts since we had such a great day in Sitka (No Rain!) and I had lots of pics to share.

Right before we left for our excursion we saw a Harbor Seal playing in the water right below our balcony (a good sign of things to come regarding nature and wildlife). Then the crew was busy testing out all the lifeboats and all of them in the water looked like a PAC Man game! Lol

The first part of our excursion was a trip to the Bear Fortress which is a bear sanctuary for bears that lost their mothers at birth. They explained that the bears would die if their mom’s couldn’t teach them how to hunt for food so they saved them from the wild and brought them here.

After a brief overview of the bears and the sanctuary, we could move about and observe all the bears in their three habitats. I really wish I could post a video because I got some great ones of them playing together.

Another entry to come later!
