Hi guys. We are officially cruising to Alaska! So I decided to splurge on a program called The Key Club which gives us lots of extra amenities, one of which is priority access on to the ship. This was the fastest we’ve got thru checkin and boarded the ship… 15 minutes from the time the shuttle bus dropped us off to heading to lunch.
And as Key Club members we got a special lunch in the dining room from the upscale restaurant. It was sooo good!
After lunch we went to our rooms and most of our luggage was there so we got unpacked. The beauty of cruising… unpack once and never touch it again!
We then walked around the ship to see all the amenities. This ship is huge! It has bumper cars, it has a surfing/boogie boarding simulator, a place where you can simulate sky diving and the ride everyone wanted to do was the Northstar which takes you up in the air in a bubble to see a panoramic view of the area. We’re hoping to do that later in the week. We then went to play some trivia which was really hard. So we didn’t even come close to winning.
Of course we had to eat again so it was off to dinner! At lunch, I talked to the head waiter and asked if we could get a table for 4 by the window and he said he’d make it happen. So when we got there we got this great table with a nice view of the beautiful scenery going by as well as the sunset. Just perfect!
Then it was off to listen to a really good piano player and then to the Welcome Aboard show. By then we were exhausted! But it was a super fun day and we can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow!
Tomorrow is a sea day so more chance to explore the ship. Hope everyone had a great Monday!
