Colonia Del Sacramento – Final Day – Thurs 3/12/20

As they say, what a difference a day makes. Today was sunny and gorgeous and no rain. YAY!

I love the small little hotel I’m staying at. It has a nice breakfast and I’ve gotten to know the owner, Luis, just from chatting at the front desk. He speaks a pretty broken English but then my Spanish is really broken. The nice part about the location is it’s only a two minute walk to the bus stop, which I’ll use to get to Montevideo tomorrow.

Yes, this is my last night here. It ended up being a great stopover to balance out my trip. Two nights in a small laid back town sandwiched between two big capital cities. Buenos Aires the capital of Argentina and Montevideo the capital of Uruguay. Here there are no subways, buses, loud honking horns, etc. Just a quaint town with a cute Main Street with lots of shops and restaurants and many little cobblestones side streets. Many of the streets have these really tall trees on both sides creating lots of shade. There’s also lots of old time cars parked around sorta like a Cuba feel.

There is a very nice historic section with an old fort, a lighthouse, a church (yep, got my church fix in!), and a couple parks. It’s all set on the water facing west which made for a beautiful sunset.

I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Happy Thursday to all!

Is this Cuba??
