Barbados – Day 1 – Wed 2/19/20

Well we made it to Barbados! The flight from Charlotte was longer than I expected (a little less than 5 hours) but was smooth and landed right on time. There was a shuttle van waiting to take us to the resort. We got here a little before dinner time and got checked in, unpacked and headed to the bar! Lol. I know, I never really drink much but it being an all inclusive with unlimited drinks I figured, “when in Rome”!

I tried a White Russian (see pic) and it was really yummy. Dinner is served like on a cruise ship where you pick from the menu. Of course, like a cruise ship, you can order multiple things from the menu so I tried the Tuna steak and the pork loin. Both were yummy (see pics). Also had crab soup and salad for starters and tiramisu (see pic) for dessert.

After dinner, we took a walk along the beach in this cool boardwalk that went for maybe a mile or so. So nice hearing the waves crashing right next to you (while you walk off two meals and a tiramisu!) It was a little cloudy when we first got here but cleared up as the evening went on. The resort is right in the ocean just steps from the sand. It has a cute tiki hut bar and nice pool. The unit only has 24 units so it’s a nice boutique kind of place.

Looking forward to tomorrow being a sunny day and enjoying the warmth and ocean breezes. Ahhhhh… Hope everyone is doing well!
