Lagos – Day 1

Monday 9/9/19 – Well I made it to Lagos via bus. It wasn’t too bad of a ride and my hotel was a short 10 minute walk from the bus station. It was another Rick Steve’s recommended place and he didn’t disappoint again. Just off the main drag for peace and quiet but right in the center of the town.

Lagos is pretty small and sits right on the southern coast of Portugal where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. With the nice ocean breezes it was a lot cooler than the Lisbon area. It has a cool beach party vibe to it. But it’s also got that medieval feel to it since it is enclosed within an old wall, has a cool old church and a fort as well.

Today I just walked around the old town and wandered along the beaches. There’s lots of cool caves and tunnels thru the cliffs along the beach that make for some fun exploring. I hope to get out on the water tomorrow!

I’ll just let the pictures do the talking. The last pic was my meal today. Both the hotel clerk and Rick Steve’s recommended this restaurant for its fresh fish so I decided to order the sea bass since they said it was caught fresh this morning. It was really tasty! And no, I didn’t eat the head! Lol.

Happy Monday to all!
