Dingle – Day 5

Well, it finally happened… I slowed down… and it rained! The streak is over! 11 straight days with no rain in Ireland… not too shabby! So I think I need to find another Molly Malone statue and start rubbing! Lol

So I took it easy today. Slept in… had a nice Irish breakfast… then just walked around town and bought souvenirs for every one of you… yeah right!

Today I’d call It my foodie day. I’ll explain each of the pictures as I go.

Pic 1, I stopped by this cute little cheese shop and sampled as many pieces of cheese that I could! I also bought some to snack on later.

Pics 2 and 3, I stopped by the bakery and bought something fun for a sweet snack.

Pic 4 thru 6 was dinner! This place was rated number one in Trip Advisor and I know why. I wrote them a 5 star review before I even left the place. I started off with these yummy olives and some good bread and butter. They offered both a crusty French baguette type bread and the traditional Irish soda bread. Factoid – Irish soda bread became popular in Ireland when bicarbonate of soda became available to use as a leavening agent. Buttermilk and soft wheat flower are the other main ingredients. It’s like a really hearty wheat bread. It’s not bad.

Then for the starter course I had this delicious smoked salmon in this dill sauce. So yummy! Then for the main course I had baked hake fish fillets with prawns along with potatoes and vegetables. I wanted to get dessert but I was stuffed!

Pic 7, after dinner I stopped by the Dingle Pub again and those same 3 people were playing that I showed a picture of the other night. They are so good. I liked the sign next to theGuinness Toucan but not sure if you can read it. It says “Seeing leprechauns? Stop Drinking!” Lol

Pic 8 and video 9 were from inside the St James church where I showed an outside pic of the other day. They had a concert so I went in to listen. The group was really good so I included a video for you to hear. I really like the Irish music. Has a good rhythm, is simple and you can really tap your toes to it. I like all the interesting musical instruments they use too.

I did find out that the church is a stop along the pilgrimage route for the Irish people who are heading to St James of Santiago de Compostela in Northwest Spain.

One other funny thing about the concert, it was mostly people from a Rick Steves tour group. That man can’t stop following me! Lol.

Happy Friday everyone. TGIF!
