Flight to Paris

Monday 4/29/19 – I arrived safely in Paris! YAY! The flight left on time and got in early and was “only” 7.5 hours. Not too bad. And I once again enjoyed traveling using American Airlines “buddy pass”. For a budget traveler like me, these things are incredible. My round trip to Europe will be roughly $350! And that’s a direct flight from Charlotte to Paris and direct return flight from Madrid to Charlotte. That would normally be around $1,400. Ka-ching!

So if you want to travel at this cost, go find a friend, relative, drunken pilot, whatever, that works at American (or any airline) and beg them to share their buddy passes with you. I am fortunate to have my friend John who works there and gives me all 8 of his round trip tickets. Bless that man! Lol.

So I almost hit the lottery and got a First Class ticket but just missed it but ended up in a new seating category I’ve never been in before which is called “Premium Economy”. It’s the first few rows after First Class and the seats are wider, more comfortable (they’re sort of like a Lazy Boy where you can put your feet up and lean back further than regular coach – I actually slept for a few hours!). The food is better too and you get unlimited alcoholic drinks (not big for this tea totaler but a nice benefit).

I’ve got a few hours to kill before my train to Colmar, which will leave directly from the airport which is nice. I’ll do another update once I get to Colmar. Viva La France!

PS: Here’s a few pics of the delicious food (seriously, it was good, especially the cheesecake! Not so much the Kale salad!! Lol)
