I think you'd agree with me that there's nothing more relaxing than standing next to a waterfall just listening to the sounds of the water and watching it cascade down. Of course, couple that with all of them being in Hawaii and you've got some major relaxation going on! Given all the "water" I was under yesterday you'd think I'd be tired of it but today I decided to venture over to the eastern side of the island into the rain forest area. Well of course the rainforest produces lots of rain and with the very hilly terrain it thus produces tons of beautiful waterfalls. I was also shocked that it actually did not rain once during my visit there and was a beautiful and sunny day (very rare on that side of the island) and especially since I haven't visited a church site or Buddha temple site yet!! LOL. So I guess I'm just running on dumb luck (or maybe that giant Buddha from China is still following me!) So the other day I had driven to the highest point you can drive to on the north part of the island to Pololu Valley and this time I drove to the farthest point on the north eastern side called Waipi'o Valley. It's just a few valleys down from Pololu but you can't drive between the two. You can hardly hike it unless you’re really adventurous. It's really beautiful in the Waipi'o Valley and very difficult to get down into unless you have 4WD. The coast reminds me of the Napali coast in Kauai. So I included a picture of the coast from the lookout ( I don't have 4WD) and pics of several of the other waterfalls I saw today. The one pic of Rainbow Falls, so named because you can see a rainbow when you view it, has a slight rainbow off to the right of the falls. See if you can see it in the pic. Well that's all for now. This is a BIG island so there's lots more to explore. Counting the days until I head over to Volcano National Park. The lava hasn't been flowing too freely lately but hopefully it will get moving soon just for me! (Come on large Buddha!) Jeff
