This morning I decided to walk thru some of the back streets and parts of the city I hadn’t seen yet. I came across this pedestrian bridge with all these locks on it put their by people professing their love for someone. I think Paris may have started that trend on the bridge behind the Notre Dame Cathedral but you now see it all over the world. As you can see by the pic the whole length of the bridge is pretty much covered up!I then toured Mozart’s other residence (OK, I know, I’m getting a little obsessed with ol’ Amadeus!). The house I toured the other day was where he was born and lived until age 17. This house he lived at from 17 until about 25. I also made a mistake the other day. Mozart actually lived to be 35 (not 25) and he spent 25 of those years here in Salzburg and the other 10 in Vienna.Right near his residence was this beautiful place called Mirabell Gardens. The flowers all looked so beautiful so I shared a couple pics. The one pic where if you zoom in you can see a horse statue, that is where they filmed the Sound of Music scene where the kids all danced around before lining up on the stairs with Maria back behind the horse statue. Sorry if you’ve now got that tune “Doe a deer, a female deer…” in your head! LolIt was such a beautiful day I decided to take a river cruise so I just sat back and took in the beauty of the city from the water. I included one pic from it but it just doesn’t do justice of how picturesque the place is.I then took the bus about 30 minutes to the highlight of the day… Yes, another cable car ride! You know me, if there’s a cable car anywhere nearby, I’m on it. This was the Untersberghan cable car going up to Geiereck Mountain. While this one was at 6,000 feet, pretty much the height of Eagle’s Nest from yesterday, it was FREEZING up there and they had a ton of snow! I have a really cool video coming down the cable car where you go from not seeing anything due to the clouds to seeing the valley below. Let me know if you’d like to see it.The first pic is from the base where it looks like a clear day. Then I get out at the top and I’m standing in several inches of snow. I look up at the peak and you can hardly see it due to the clouds and fog. But I decided to hike up there anyway and when I get up there, I meet 4 guys from Philadelphia (I used to live there – small world!). We’re all waiting around to see if the conditions will clear so we can get some pics and we’re all freezing our a**es off! But like a miracle (or maybe because I’ve been hanging out in churches so much!) the sun comes, the skies clear out and we take our “king of the world” pics. This dude from Philly actually laid on the ground to get me and the cross in the pic. What a guy! (I take back everything bad I ever said about Philly in the past!).Well that was my fun and eventful day. I leave tomorrow for a little town in Austria called Hallstat. Have a good one!Jeff
