Hi all,
I made it across the pond without too much hassle. I almost got upgraded to first class but an American Airlines employee had a higher priority than me and grabbed the last one. But I got two seats on one side by myself so I could stretch out and caught a few hours sleep.
I also had a 3.5 hour train ride when I got here so along with the 8.5 hour flight it was a long day of travel but well worth it. The town of Rothenburg is right out of the Middle Ages and so quaint. If anyone has ever been to Bruges in Belgium, it reminds me of that.
So after I got checked in and unpacked, I took a stroll around town to get my bearings. Around every corner you come to it’s like a post card. It’s a walled city with many different towers that make it look really cool.
After walking around a lot (and getting tired from the long day of travel) I came back to my hotel which is also a really good restaurant. This part of Germany is called Franconia so I had their specialty. The Franconian Roast Pork Shoulder with red cabbage and dumplings. Mmmm… Mmmmm… so tasty!
OK, that’s all for now and here’s a few pics from this beautiful medieval town!
Hope everyone had a safe and happy Labor Day weekend!
